Belgium Tommy's Letter

A letter home describing the Belgium Front from Pte 1 Fowler 2308 2nd Battalion Monmouthshire Regiment

Pte Fowler - 2308 No 2 Coy - 2nd Monmouthshires

Dear Miss Gardner

Thank you for your kind and very useful present. I don't expect to have such a Merry Christmas as iff I were at home, but never mind we must chere up and wait until we get home again, witch please God I hope will be soon. It's a pity to see the people some with handbags and some with barrows leaving their home's and living in barns just like cattle, but the Allies with God's help will drive the Germans out of Belgium then the people can go back to their home's again. Well that's all at present so I'll close wishing you a Merry Christmas and happy New Year.

I remain yours sincerely

Pte J Fowler
